Greetings
everyone. I feel happy and excited to present the report of “Youth Red Cross” of
RJSFGC for the year 2018-19. The Indian Red Cross Society is one of the largest
and oldest indigenous humanitarian organisations in the country. It is known for
its work in disaster response, health care services and blood bank services. To
tell about the activities of Youth Red Cross in our college, this year we
started with inauguration of Youth Red Cross on 28th Sep 2018. For this program
we had Dr. M K Krishna as Chief Guest. He brought awareness of Blood donation
and Eye donation, by which many of our students were inspired.
Our college YRC volunteers
participated in Walkathon held on 1st Oct at Freedom Park for blood donation.
Our two volunteers participated in 6 days camp i.e., from 28th Sep to 3rd Oct
2018 at NSS Bhavan, Bangalore University.
Camp was organized by NSS Nodal Officer Dr. Srinivas.
We conducted Blood
donation camp on 16th Oct 2018 together with NSS. Students participated actively
in this programme.
As a YRC coordinator, I
attended one day awareness programme on Cancer and Traffic Rules at NSS Bhavan,
Bangalore University.
Our college YRC volunteers
participated in 5 days workshop i.e., from 18th Jan to 22nd Jan 2019 at Alvas
Degree College Campus, Moodabedri, Dakshina Kannada District. There they
actively participated in First aid and disaster management. They were awarded
with participation certificates. Again, from 8th Feb 2019 to 12th Feb 2019 camp
was conducted by YRC. Our volunteers actively took part in the camp, which was
conducted at Gulbarga University, Kalaburgi Campus.
We keep striving hard to
bring a positive change in society and work to grow service in heart and soul of
all. We will put our heart and soul to conduct many more activities in our
college in the upcoming year. These all activities were conducted and organised
with full support and encouragement of our college management and our Principal.
We thank each and every person for encouraging us.
